Victoria, ruled for 63 years from 1837 to 1901. She was born at Kensington Palace, London on May 24, 1819, the only child of Edward, Duke of Kent, fourth son of George III, and of Victoria Maria Louisa, daughter of Francis, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Sallfeld.
In 1861Albert died, and she retired to Balmoral and Osborne, on the Isle of Wight.
She died at Osborne on January 22 1901. Her eldest son Edward became Edward VII.
