URPoint Details
The village is named after the Pusey family, who were given the estate by King Canute in the 11th century.
The church and the mansion were built in the elegant Classical style that reached its peak in the Georgian period, were built for J A Pusey in the 1740s.
A ‘no through road’ leads to the village, where attractive estate cottages stand among beech and horse-chestnut trees.
The Church of All Saints is approached by a courtyard and there are some interesting marble statues and Venetian screens.
A monument to J A Pusey shows that he died in 1753, a few years after the church had been completed.
