URPoint Details
Founded in 1851, the original 12 holes of Prestwick were used for the first Open Championship in 1860.
The course now 18 holes is described as 'sand, heather, seaside bent, cavernous bunkers, sloping fairways, the menacing Pow Burn, fast, true and undulating greens, delightful views of the Isle of Arran and the wind! Sometimes a zephyr, sometimes half a gale'.
Every golfer, partner or just a fan really has to see the Clubhouse with its different rooms filled with Golfing memorabilia.
From electric buggies to the best of golf equipment you will find everything you need for a great day out on this fantastic course.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a lunch through the Prestwick Experience; a specially priced ticket that includes a round of golf and a three-course lunch (excluding drinks) in the Dining Room.
