A small resort on Kames Bay facing the Firth of Clyde with the towers of the 14th century Kames Castle overlooking the bay.
To the northwest are the beautiful waters of the Kyles of Bute near the entrance to Loch Striven and is the highest ground on the island with Windy Hill at 911ft
To the north is Kilmichael, where the ruined, ancient Chapel of St Michael still stands.
