For spectacular views try the Gairloch road southwards from Poolewe where the scenery up Loch Maree to Slioch stands at 3,260ft at its head.
A little beyond the River Ewe to the east lies Loch Kernsary and farther on to Fionn Loch bordering the lonely Fisherfield Forest and dominated by A’Mhaigdean that rises to 3,060ft and also of Beinn Dearg Mhor at 2,974ft.
