URPoint Details
Although now a seaside holiday resort, the town has retained its fishing influence and colour washed cottages, and two sea walls.
The town has an unusual feature - the swimming pool west of the harbour refills every day at high tide.
The small cream and white houses seem to cling to the sides of the valley and others line the River Pol which flows through the village.
There are some interesting Georgian buildings including The House on Props is supported by wooden stilts. The oldest house dates from the 16th century and stands near a Saxon bridge.
