A parkland garden with some formal areas and the layout is based on Humphry Repton’s design with sweeping lawns and magnificent woodland. Exotic plants thrive in this mild wet climate and include Azaleas, magnolias, Japanese maples and rhododendrons sheltered by belts of trees. A spring garden with fine views to the mountains of Snowdonia. There is also an Italianate garden and an arboretum of eucalyptus and nothofagus to be kept as a wild flower area. A 5 acre rhododendron wild garden was opened in 1985.
