URPoint Details
A county town with charming buildings and cobbled winding streets around the tiny market place which has an 18th century town hall.
There are some fine half-timbered Tudor houses and Georgian buildings and the Somerset Almshouses are dated 1746.
The parish church dates from the 14th century but almost rebuilt in 1827, although there is still evidence of masonry and some excellent glass and the font dates from the 14th century
