URPoint Details
This is an area offering plenty of contrasts: from the white-walled harbour front-houses in the fishing villages to the windy silences of the edge of Rannoch Moor; from the pubs and upbeat nightlife of the city of Dundee to the upland tranquility of the Angus glens. It makes a good choice if your Scottish break should have a little of everything.
You will find Perthshire straddling the Highland-Lowland edge, with Perth as an important historic and commercial centre for an attractive hinterland. Another Perthshire speciality are the little resort towns of Pitlochry and Aberfeldy, attractive places with a long tradition of catering for visitors in a Highland setting. These locations and others such as Dunkeld and Blairgowrie, make good touring centres. All these places are especially good in autumn when woodland colours are at their best.
Blair Castle or Castle Menzies are just two of the most beautiful and outstanding castles to visit
