Opened in 1898 this collection displays the story of Glasgow and its people and its impact on the world from 1175 to the present.

There are important collections relating to the tobacco, and other industries, stained glass, ceramics, political and social movements including temperance, co-operation, women’s suffrage and socialism.
Photographs, film sequences and reminiscences bring to life the city’s past.
