A fisherman's paradise with salmon from the River Dyfi and trout from nearby streams and for climbers there are the peaks of Hendre, Tarren y gesail and Tarren Cadian which invite tourists to visit this little town with its low, slate-roof houses.
The Classical style church rebuilt in the 19th century has a hipped roof and gilded weathercock.
