URPoint Details
The Church of the Holy Trinity is a grand church with connections to both William Penn and Pennsylvania. Of interest is the single-handed tower clock. The interior is fascinating with eye catching 12th century coloured consecration crosses, 18th century furniture and hatchments. The beautiful nave roof was raised above an earlier structure in 1380 and the church's culminating glory is the Doom painting hanging above the chancel arch, which shows Christ in Majesty, seated on a rainbow. Examine the interesting brasses and memorials of the family of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania. Take a stroll around the beautiful churchyard.
