URPoint Details
An ancient stone village on the edge of the fens, completely unspoilt.
In 716 St Pega, sister of St Guthlac founded a cell here. On the site of the original cell is the Herrmitage, east of the church. After being in ruins for many years it was restored but the chancel dates from about 1280. There is also a fragment of an Anglo-Saxon cross-shaft with foliage.
