The medieval church of St Petrock, (Churches Conservation Trust) is a focal point in the village and a national protest saved it from being demolished when a new church was built in the village in 1878. According to legend, the village was the first place in the county to have a Christian church which St Petrock built himself over 1,400 years ago, although no traces remain.
