A fine Cluniac abbey church founded in 1163, and some 12th century walls remain, but most of the nave dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. The transept and choir lay in ruins from the 16th to 19th centuries, but are now fully restored.
There are fine medieval carvings in St Mirin Chapel, also tombs of Princess Marjory Bruce and King Robert III in the choir and fine stained glass and Cavaille-Coll Organ.
The abbey contains the Barochan Cross, a weathered Celtic cross attributed to the 10th century.
