St Mary Magdalen's Church north aisle, is called the Martyrs' aisle, is a good Gothic revival of 1841 and consonant with the Martyrs' memorial built north of the church at the same time, to commemorate the Protestant martyrs, Cranmer, Latimer and Ridley, burnt in Broad St in 1555-6. The tower was rebuilt early in the 16th century. Elaborate 14th century font and 19th century Gothic diptych memorial. The Venerable chest dates from 1300.
