A delightful village with cob and thatched cottages and to the east is the picturesque Ladram Bay.
To the west, at the cross-roads with the A376 is a curious brick mile-post, erected in 1743, and carrying four sets of directions in Biblical phrases.
To the northwest is the mainly 19th century Bicton House with its beautiful grounds.
In the mausoleum built by Pugin in 1850 are two elaborate Roll monuments.
