Situated on the River Wharfe at the foot of Otley Chevin is where Thomas Chippendale the famous cabinet maker was born in 1718 he died in1779.
The cruciform church Decorated and Perpendicular church has a good west tower, some monuments, and a Georgian pulpit. In the churchyard is the curious ‘Railway Tunnel’ memorial to men who lost their lives building Bramhope tunnel between 1845 and 1849.
