In the centre of this old grey-stone village in the Hambleton Hills is an old cross and nearby is the stone table on five pillars where John Wesley once preached.
From the top of the village a track marked Moors Path shows that the Cleveland Way passes here. Black Hambleton rises to 1289ft.
