A large and pretty village on the edge of Broadland, and a mile or so inland from the coast has two greens one is a lovely memorial green and the other a large busy village green.
It was one of the many villages in this area settled by the Vikings. These 10th century residents are shown on the village sign.
The church of St Margaret is 15th century and has a Norman doorway arch and a fine west tower which houses one bell. There are some fine brasses to the Clere family dated from 1529.
