Old Rome is an 18th century Grade II listed farmhouse set in twelve acres of unspoilt countryside. The house provides all the comforts whilst retaining the authenticity of a traditional Scottish farmhouse.
Old Rome prides itself on its traditional farmhouse cooking of organic home grown produce and free range eggs. Vegetarian meals are also available.. Meals are served in the dining room or in the lounge bar (very popular with the locals).
Mews Cottage, a delightful former farm building overlooking the hotel courtyard. This charming, beautifully furnished and equipped cottage has hi-fi stereo, TV with video and sleeps upto 6. On the ground floor are the twin bedrooms, kitchen, shower room with toilet and dining room overlooking rear patio. The first floor has a pretty double bedroom, bathroom and lounge.
Set in the picturesque heartlands of Burns Country, Old Rome offers easy access to the Burns Heritage Trail covering Kilmarnock, Irvine, Mauchline and Alloway. Other places of interest include Dean Castle and Country Park.
For the golf enthusiast there are many courses with easy reach including the famous Royal Troon and Turnberry courses.
