A very picturesque little village dating from AD 855, when St Edmund was supposedly shipwrecked here.
The foundations of the coastal bridge over the river Hun is said to be Roman.
‘Grandfather's Bath’ in Hall Park is a spring which feeds the moat and is the source of the river Hun.
The large St Mary the Virgin Church is 14th century and contains several tombs of the Le Strange family.
