URPoint Details
The remains of this Elizabethan mansion house set in gently rolling farmland stands a mile along the drive which passes the Roman Theatre, built in 1777 by Sir Robert Taylor, (architect to the Bank of England), to replace a house built in the 16th century. The classical rooms contain a fine collection of family portraits, and the fine porch of the Great Hall, illustrates the impact of the Renaissance on English architecture.
