Offord D’Arcy - Church of St Peter

Offord D’Arcy St Peter's Church, (Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust). Limited opening.

This Grade I Listed building set in tree-shaded churchyard, at the end of a drive close by the Manor House, the church has 12th century origins with evidence of rebuilding and additions throughout the Middle Ages. The tower and spire were erected 1370-80 and in the 15th century the north aisle was rebuilt, the nave walls heightened and the clerestory formed. Inside are both sturdy Norman and elegant 14th century arcades, as well as fragments of medieval screenwork now fixed to the chancel arch, a beautiful 14th century piscina and a monument to the Nailour family (1616).
