A village of flint and stone cottages with a largely rebuilt church in the 1870s, and in the southeast corner of the churchyard lies the grave of the legendary local Joshua Scamp, a gipsy wrongfully hanged for horse stealing in 1801.
Scamp became a martyr among his people and each year they assemble around his grave.
