There are two manors in this little village Occold Hall and Benningham Hall.
Benningham Hall dates back to the mid 1700's but an older Hall stood further back surrounded by a moat and drawbridge.
In the 10th century a church stood nearby, only Chapel Field now remain.
St Michael’s church in the centre of the tiny thatched village is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
