URPoint Details
This unforgettable cruciform Parish Church (Churches Conservation Trust), set in a curve of the River Arun below the South Downs with its colours of white, yellows and pale red dates mostly from the 13th century, and has survived with little 19th century alteration. There are some delightful wall-paintings, tiny pieces of early figurative stained glass, a sheep’s head and an intriguing little hand carved in stone, elegant piscinia and sedila and an early font.
