URPoint Details
St Mary's Church has a late Saxon tower and is otherwise largely medieval. Especially beautiful is the 15th century Wilcoote Chapel, with elaborate fan-vaulting, an ogee-arched tomb recess decorated with pinnacles and angels, and stained glass with intriguing patterns of foliage and letters of the alphabet. The 18th century second north aisle combines classical details with Baroque. The stone chancel screen and pulpit are Victorian. Note the 15th century Doom painting. There are some ebullient Baroque details on 18th century memorials.
