The town is overlooked by Berwick Law a 613ft volcanic crag and topped by the ruins of a watchtower built during the Napoleonic Wars.
A Royal Burgh resort and fishing town on the North Sea coast and there is a fine safe sandy beach.
The harbour is situated between the east and west bays with Bass Rock at 350ft a landmark with a powerful lighthouse.
Northwest lies Fidra island with its lighthouse.
There was once a Covenanters prison here and there are still some traces of old fortifications and of a chapel.
North Berwick Law rises to 613ft and has a watch tower dating from Napoleonic times.
