North Benfleet All Saints Church (redundant church) Known as ‘the church by the duck pond’ parts of the early 13th century remain, with much later additions in the 16th and 17th centuries and again in the 19th century. An interesting feature of the church is a memorial stone to John Cole, a soldier at Waterloo who was wounded by a musket ball during the famous battle and died 21 years later still with the musket ball intact inside him.
