Newton Flotman
The river Tas runs along its boundary into Saxlingham Thorpe and Tasburgh, forming the Tas valley.
The villages name means ‘new town’ and ‘flote-man’ when the river was wider and needed a ferry.
Stand on the bridge over the river and see Rainthorpe Hall a beautiful Elizabeth mansion which is open on certain days.
Shotesham Hall stands in delightful parkland on the way back to Norwich.
