A Victorian coastal fort, set on the cliff covering 10 acres overlooking the harbour and English Channel. Commissioned by Lord Palmerston in the 1860's, it features gun emplacements, mortar batteries, magazines and a labyrinth of underground passages. Newhaven Fort has so many things to capture your imagination and interest - a Military and Wartime Collection, the Dieppe Raid, and the Normandy Landings, the Royal Observer Corps.
