Nether Alderley Mill, (NT), Congleton Rd, 1½m S of Alderley Edge, on E side of A34. Open April to end May & Oct, Wednesday Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays 1-4.30pm. June to September Tuesday to Sunday & Bank Holidays 1-5pm. No access for wheelchairs. No dogs allowed. A fascinating overshot tandem wheel watermill, dating from the 15th century, with a stone-tiled low-pitched roof. The machinery was derelict for 30 years, but has been restored to full working order, and grinds for flour occasionally for demonstration
