There is one step between the Foyer and shop and one step between Foyer internal toilets; a ramp can be provided for these. The lift can be used to get between the lower ground floor cafe on the ground floor that leads to the Akeman Street Car Park, first-floor galleries and second-floor galleries. Support dogs are welcome

Walter Rothschild in 1892 opened this fascinating museum and is one of the largest collection of animals ever collected by one person. There are about 1000 species of mammal, 1600 species of birds and hundreds of fish and reptiles. He was a man of great repute and the collection shows his interest and great love of the larger types of animals and reptiles.
