A 16th century dovecot restored to house unmanned audio-visual display which depicts the battle in 832AD at which the Picts and the Scots defeated the Northumbrian King Athelstane.
It was then that a white cross of clouds floating against blue sky appeared which gave the combined armies the inspiration to defeat the superior English army.
Since that time, the St Andrews Cross has been the National Flag of Scotland.
