The village has been here since Saxon times and the houses are a pleasing mix of thatched cottages, Georgian and Victorian houses bordering the lanes around the village green and on the brow of the hill stands the 12th century Church of St Lawrence.
The Oxford Canal winds its way around the hill, attract anglers and walkers who enjoy the leafy towpath.
