Mortlach Church. Open: Easter to October, daily 10am-4pm. Free admission (donation welcome); car park; induction loop.
Founded around 566AD by St Molaug, part of the building dates from the 11th and 12th centuries.
In 1016 it was lengthened by '3 spears’ length on the command of King Malcolm after his victory over the Danes and is believed to be one of the oldest churches in continual use for public worship. There are some sculptured stones in the vestibule and some fine stained glass In the churchyard there is a Battle stone.
