A delightful little village with a mixed and interesting history, the name implies that there was a settlement here in Saxon times and in 1039 the church was presented to the Abbey of St Albans
Some of the buildings date back to the 15th & 16th century.
The church was built in the 13th century and had a tower added later and stands on a site of a church built in 1039.
The White Hart dates back to the 16th century and across the street, is the 18th century Moreton Massey formerly the Nags Head.
