Monks House, (NT), at Rodmell, 4m southeast of Lewes
Open April to end October, Wednesday & Saturday 2-5.30pm (last admission 5pm). Admission charge. No dogs.
Now owned by the National Trust, this small converted farmhouse and garden was the home of the famous novelist Virginia Woolf and her husband Leonard from 1919 until his death in 1969. The rooms contain furniture and personal items belonging to them. The garden has been restored and has ponds, pathways and a summer house with an exhibition about the Woolf's time at Monks House.
