URPoint Details
A village combining with Hadley Common and Hadley Green has a centre of Georgian buildings and the green and the triangular common separated by the church.
The common with Hadley Wood in the background has on the north side the 17th century brick Church House and Mount House.
Hadley Green has on its west side Old Ford Manor House and Old Ford Manor Golf Club.
St Mary’s Church has a date on the tower of 1494 and it has diagonal buttresses and a high turret of flint and ironstone with white stone dressings and a rare copper beacon surmounting it. The interior has squints in the chancel chapels and the plate is very old and very fine. Above the west door is the date 1494, the ‘fours’ being shown as unusual symbols representing half-eights.
