URPoint Details
It is said if you climb the tower of St Peter's Church you can see the ocean on a clear day from this central part of England. Within the church is a Paxton Memorial Window in memorial to Sir Joseph Paxton who designed the Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition of 1851. The church has a Norman nave and chancel.
Grade I listed church
At the entrance to the church is a headstone erected by the Vicar in memory of one of his congregation who died whilst taking communion on Christmas morning. The church bells date back as far as the 17th century.
