URPoint Details
There was once a Baptist Chapel in the village, but has since vanished but had a very interesting history. The Baptists obtained permission to hold religious gatherings, but were refused any land on which to build their meeting place. Not to be thwarted the tiny band, assisted by their Dunstable friends, built a Chapel in sections and carried it in the dark of night from Dunstable to Milton Bryan. The only public land available to them was the strip surrounding the pond, and so it was here at night that it was erected with part of the structure jutting out over the water itself. The Red Lion pub is attractive and looks across to a row of thatched cottages over 500 years old.
