Once noted for its many mills, the ‘borough’ of Milborne has in the centre the remains of a medieval cross. The old guildhall has a Norman doorway, and the church is partly Saxon.
At the east end of the village stands a Queen Anne mansion and on the lane to Milborne Wick are traces of a prehistoric camp.
