URPoint Details
The village dates from Saxon times and was mentioned in the Domesday Book and still retains some interesting earthworks of a 12th century castle and church.
There are some delightful and historic farms including Polehanger and Wood Hall. The manor house standing by the church dates from about 1600 and is an outstanding timber-framed building with its two big gables with timber decorations.
