The town sitting on the strait is a fine health resort with stunning views of the Menai Strait rolling away from the picturesque cliffs.
Baldwin’s Causeway is where the archbishop landed in 1188.
The bridge is Telford’s great Suspension Bridge and nearby is Stephenson’s Britannia Tubular Bridge carrying the railway.
On a 250ft high hill is a tall monument to the Marquis of Anglesey who was second in command at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
To the southwest is the fine late 18th century mansion Plas Newydd.
Also to the southwest is the well-known chambered cairn of Bryn-celli-ddu.
