URPoint Details
Situated at the mouth of the Kyle of Tongue, on Tongue Bay overlooking the Rabbit Islands is where a sloop carrying French gold for Prince Charles Edward ran aground in 1745.
Away to the northwest and not accessible by road is Whiten Head on a lonely rocky stretch of the coast noted for its numerous caves near the mouth of Loch Eriboll.
Six miles southwest is Moin House built on a lonely moor in 1830 as a refuge while the road was being built.
