Mary, Queen of Scots born 8 December 1542 at Linlithgow Palace, Linlithgow (Edinburgh)
Mary was the last Roman Catholic ruler of Scotland, the only child of James I of Scotland and Mary of Guise. She married Henry Stuart in 1565, her cousin.
She was beheaded on 8 February 1587 at Fotheringhay Castle, Northamptonshire and buried in Westminster Abbey.
She had one son James I of England 1566.
