URPoint Details
The north east corner of County Durham has a glorious stretch of sea shore and a cliff walk at Marsden Bay looks down on caves and arches that have been carved out of the cliff.
Just offshore is Marsden Rock, a huge imestone mass cut by an archway under which boats can pass at high tide.
The rocks and cliff ledges are popular nesting places for Kittiwakes, cormorants, fulmars and gulls.
