The birthplace of Robert Clive in 1725 or he is better known ‘Clive of India’. This market town has many fine half-timbered buildings dating from the mid-17th century.
The 14th century parish church has several Norman features including a carved capital depicting William Rufus and his court. From the sturdy tower there are fine views across the River Tern Valley.
