The Right Honourable Margaret Hilda Thatcher, The Baroness Thatcher  LG, OM, PC, FRC nee Roberts was born 13 October 1925 at Grantham in Lincolnshire

A British politician, the longest-serving Prime Minister from 4 May 1979 – 28 November 1990 and the only woman ever to have held the post.

She was nicknamed the 'Iron Lady' by a Soviet journalist . As Prime Minister, she implemented Conservative policies that have come to be known as Thatcherism

She retired from the House at the 1992 election, aged 66.

She died 8 April 2013 (age 87 years) at The Ritz London.
